Fernando Martinez

Greetings! My name is Fernando Martine. I am a first-generation graduate from South Texas, now based in the San Marcos – Austin, TX, area. I graduated in Dec. 2021 from Texas State University with B.S. in Digital Media Innovations and a minor in Spanish.

The degree program has helped me develop skills in various aspects of the digital job space. I acquired skills in mass communication, media criticism, social media management, content creation, and skills in both coding and Adobe systems software.

These analytics reports were created for a client in my Advanced Social Media and Analytics course at Texas State University. I created the reports on Canva. I gathered information from 3 different social media sites to create these infographics.

Web Design and Publishing

In Web Design & Publishing, I created an html website from scratch describing myself and my passions. Afterwards, I had to improve the design and responsiveness of the website using CSS and adding media queries and fluid layout elements. I had to use Canva and Photoshop to create my header.

Blog

Fundamentals of Digital & Online Media

In Fundamentals of Digital & Online Media, I was responsible for creating and curating content on whatever I was interested in; I had to maintain this throughout the entire semester. For this project I talked about my passion for photography and how an amateur could improve in their photography skills without having to use expensive equipment. Most of the images are mine, and other photos are credited with the owners Instagram.

The final projects for Web Design & Publishing and Digital Media Innovation Capstone required incorporating all the skills we learned in the class. We used Bootstrap, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, Google Charts API, filtering large datasets and in-depth research into a topic of our choice.

Interests

Basketball, photography, and working out are three hobbies that bring me joy and relaxation. When I step onto the basketball court, I feel a sense of calm and focus as I dribble the ball and shoot hoops. It's a way for me to unwind and engage in some friendly competition with friends or simply enjoy a solo session. Similarly, photography allows me to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me. Whether I'm capturing landscapes, candid moments, or even everyday objects, it's a peaceful activity that lets me express my creativity and appreciate the world through a different lens. And when it comes to working out, it's my personal time to decompress and recharge. Engaging in physical activity helps me clear my mind and improve my overall well-being. Whether I'm lifting weights, going for a run, or practicing yoga, it's a calming and rejuvenating experience that helps me find balance in my daily life. Together, these three interests provide me with a relaxing and fulfilling outlet to enjoy my free time..

When I am not outside, I am an avid Japanese manga and American comic book enthusiast. I really like to partake in these communities and share my opinions about the stories and possible developments.
